The trees are starting to reveal their wares, and we discovered three small cherry trees on the land giving us juicy red fruit at the end of May. Now the figs trees look laden and it shouldn’t be long before we can pick them fresh from tree to table.
Our vegetable patch has also been almost too successful with an ongoing glut of courgettes – or zucchini – and tomato plants galore just starting to turn from green to red. The chickens have enjoyed our lettuces but luckily we’ve been able to rescue a few for the salad bowl!
