Getting Here

There are lots of ways to get to Puglia for your holiday – all the details are listed below

For guests who come by train we offer an environmentally-friendly 15% discount. However, a car is essential once you’re here.

By Air

The property is 45 minutes’ drive from Brindisi airport, an hour and a half from Bari. Naples is also a good option as there are more airline and UK airport choices, and it’s a route well travelled so flights are often cheaper. It’s an easy three hours’ drive from Naples.

From the UK, Ryanair has flights direct from Stansted to both Brindisi and Bari airports, and British Airways and Easyjet fly direct from Gatwick to Bari. For those with the time and patience to work out the timetables, it is possible to fly to Brindisi and Bari from various UK airports on Ryanair, Easyjet and Alitalia but involve changes, usually at Rome or Milan. Other options include flying to Pescara (about 5 hours’ drive away) and both Rome airports (about 6 hours drive).

On booking we will send you detailed directions on how to find the property as well as providing a meet and greet service at the airport for those who would prefer it.

By Train

The excellent website Seat 61 gives two train routes from London to Bari and Brindisi, where guests can then hire a car. Rail Europe is a similar site.

Guests who arrive by train will receive a 15% discount

By Motorail

Having a car for the duration of your stay is essential so why not put your own car on the train. Seat 61 gives several options, of which the route from the Netherlands seems the most efficient which you can book through Railsavers. Take the ferry to either the Hook of Holland or Rotterdam and drive a short distance to s’Hertogenbosch to pick up the motorail to Bologna. You can then choose to drive the rest of the way or take the train from Bologna to Villa San Giovanni in the tip of the toe of Italy and drive up. Guests who take the train will receive a 15% discount.

By Car

To avoid too many toll roads, our suggested route is by Eurotunnel to Calais and across to Belgium, then down through France to Switzerland, into Italy via Milan, across to Ancona and all the way down the east coast to Ceglie Messapica.

Perfect ambience for an early holiday, we really didn't need to move away from the house and garden
